The application of CON-AID / CBR PLUS is designed to be straightforward, utilizing standard road construction equipment. By following this standardized methodology, you ensure the ionic soil stabilizer permeates effectively, delivering maximum compaction and permanent, long-lasting durability for your infrastructure project.
Soils are classified in accordance with the AASTHO soil classification. A 300g sample is analyzed to determine soil reactivity to specify the correct application rate.
Shape the surface to final levels and allow for proper drainage. Scarify to a depth of 150 mm and break down all lumps of material.
Add CON-AID / CBR PLUS to water at a ratio of 1:250. Apply solution evenly to achieve a soil moisture content ± 1% above optimum. For heavy clays, leave 2-3 days to permeate.
Commence compaction at ± 1% above optimum moisture content. A vibrator, sheep’s foot, or normal roller can be used initially, finished off with a pneumatic compactor.
Spray the surface with clean water at daily intervals for 7 - 10 days. If rainfall occurs immediately after, surface slipperiness is normal – simply allow the material to dry.
Break down lumps and rip the soil to the required depth of 150mm.
Mix CON-AID 1:250 with water and spray evenly over the prepared section.
Blade mix the treated soil to ensure homogeneous moisture content.
Shape the road to final levels, allowing for proper camber and drainage.
Use a vibrator or sheep's foot roller, finishing with a pneumatic compactor.
Lightly spray the surface with water daily for 7 - 10 days to prevent drying out.
If a treated road is damaged, no re-treatment is required unless new untreated soil is introduced. The road re-compacts and performs as if newly constructed.
